A 1950s villa in Gaggiola, on the hill above the centre of La Spezia. Green shutters, a pantile roof, two marble lions either side of the arched door.

Inside, a gilded corridor with a fretwork ceiling and a red runner, off which the four rooms open. Behind, a courtyard with a pergola, an olive tree and geraniums, where breakfast is served in the morning.

They all open off the same gilded corridor, but none of them resembles the others. Each has its own bathroom and its own rate.
